Visiting traditional villages in Bajawa

In Bajawa we rented a motorbike to discover the traditional villages nearby. To quote the Rough Guide: “Bajawa is the largest town in the Ngada district, an area that maintains its status as the spiritual heartland of Flores. Here, despite the growing encroachment of tour groups, indigenous animist religions flourish and the villages maintain traditional houses, megalithic stones and interesting totemic structures.”

• Stay: A small hotel without a name.
• Things to do: Rent a motorbike and drive around to visit the traditional villages.
• Food: Lucas Restaurant is a nice and cozy chalet with good food.
